Checklist
Preparing well for Hajj helps make your journey smoother, safer, and more comfortable. Some items are required for travel, while others support your comfort, worship, and movement with the group. Please go through the checklist carefully and prepare early.
Also remember that many personal items can be purchased from local shops in Makkah and Madinah, so pilgrims who prefer to travel light may buy some items after arrival.
TRAVEL ESSENTIALS
Every pilgrim should carry these items to make the journey smooth and well-coordinated. Some are required for travel, while others help with identification, communication, and personal support throughout the trip.

Passport
The Hajj authorities will take your passport upon arrival in Saudi Arabia and will return it to you when departing.

Hajj Visa
Maqam Travels provides your visa as part of a 3-in-1 travel document that includes your Hajj visa, train ticket, and air ticket. Keep the printed copy safely with your passport.

Air Ticket / Travel Itinerary
Your air ticket and travel itinerary are provided by Maqam Travels as part of your travel documents. Each pilgrim should still double-check their name, travel dates, passport details, and flight information to make sure there are no errors before travelling.

Vaccination Card / Yellow Book
Pilgrims travelling from Uganda are currently required to have a Yellow Book showing the required vaccines, including Polio, Meningitis, and Influenza.
You can get these from a health centre near you, or Maqam Travels can help you process them at an extra cost.

Identity Card
Maqam Travels provides each pilgrim with an ID card containing our Saudi emergency contact number and a QR code for quick support in case you get lost or need help. In Makkah, Saudi authorities may also provide pilgrims with wristbands and Nusuk ID cards, but you should still keep your Maqam ID card with you at all times.

Money for Personal Use
Carry a reasonable amount of money for personal needs such as food, shopping, laundry, or small services during the journey. Avoid carrying excessive cash, as it may raise questions from airport or security authorities. It is advisable to carry USD, which can easily be exchanged for Saudi Riyals when needed in Saudi Arabia.
Clothes
Pack simple, light, and comfortable clothes that can handle heat, walking, laundry, and long travel days.
